So… my sisters and I get on a conference call on Sunday evenings to pray. I began this practice about a year or so ago, and it truly gives me peace, knowing we are all in unison. Unfortunately, the iPhone only allows 6 of us on the call, so whoever answers first gets first dibs…If anybody knows how I can fit more people in on the calls, let me know.
( Yes, I started the sentence with a conjunction, or is it an adverb? A pronoun?)
Well, you know what I mean by social media posts beginning with “So……”
This morning’s topic is not a social media post by any means, but more of a philosophical or perhaps theological question sparked by our prayer call last night. One of my sisters voiced that not even God is perfect, and another one chimed in that he is perfect. After texting back and forth for a bit and this morning, still on the topic of Perfection, I realized that this was something worth discussing.
For centuries, this topic of God’s perfection has been debated. From debates about divine attributes to the problem of evil and the nature of human imperfection, the topic has been explored from multiple angles throughout religious beliefs and philosophical inquiry.
Have you ever wondered if God is indeed perfect? About human imperfection? Good-vs-evil? The philosophy of religion? The thought that Jesus and God are the same: if God is perfect, does this mean Jesus was always perfect?
Perhaps some of you might find it complex, while others might find it “a no-brainer.”
I would love to read your thoughts, so please share my post with all of your loved ones. Let us grow in our faith, our questioning, as I’ve understood that God expects us to do, and most importantly, in HIS perfect LOVE for each of us.
