Pimp for Blog Post

Today, Lord… July 13, 2026, Your Will be done as we remember Pimpis at her Viewing and Rosary.

We gather as a family, fragile in our grief, to honor our beloved Pimpis, who left this world on July 8 after her faithful battle with cancer. We come before You not with perfect words, but with trembling hearts — because only You, Jesus, can hold sorrow and hope in the same hand.

And today, in a way that feels woven by Heaven, is also the anniversary of the Third Apparition of Our Lady of Fatima in Portugal. When Your Mother appeared in 1917 to three small shepherd children — Lucia, Francisco, and Jacinta — she asked them to pray the Rosary daily, to offer sacrifices for the salvation of souls, and she promised that in October she would reveal her identity and perform a miracle so that all may believe. She showed them suffering, yes… but also the triumph of Your mercy and the shelter of her Immaculate Heart.

Lord, You know how we prayed to Your Mother — Our Lady of Fatima — for our niece’s healing. We begged. We pleaded. We hoped with every fiber of our being.

(She and I also spoke about visiting the site of Our Lady of Fatima’s apparition in Portugal together upon her healing; yet I do believe that, knowing Pimpis, she beat us all to it!)

And we believe she did intercede. She carried our prayers to You. She wrapped our sweet girl in her mantle.

But Your Will was done — not in silence, not in abandonment, but in mercy. Because You did heal her, Lord. Not in the way we imagined, but in the way Heaven understands.

You took away her pain. You freed her from suffering. And now, with Your love, she has conquered this disease, for her resurrected body is whole, radiant, untouched by cancer, untouched by fear. She lives now in the fullness of Your promise — the promise sealed by Your own resurrection.

We who remain will mourn. We will feel the empty spaces she once filled. We will ache for her laughter, her presence, her light.

But You remind us, Lord, that this sorrow is not forever, as written in Psalm 30:5:

“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.”

And so we trust — even when trust feels heavy. We trust that our pain will become joy. We trust that You are near to the brokenhearted. We trust that You cradle those crushed in spirit.

Yet today, Jesus, we ask for something tender… Something only You can give.

We ask for solace for her mother, Maria Elva, who has lost her baby girl. Wrap her in Your gentleness. Steady her when grief shakes her bones. Let her feel her daughter’s presence not as absence, but as light. Let her know that love does not end at death — it only changes form, becoming purer, stronger, eternal.

Hold her, Lord, the way only You can. Let Your Mother, who once stood at the foot of the Cross, stand beside her now. Let her whisper the same strength she whispered to Lucia, Francisco, and Jacinta — the strength to endure, the strength to hope, the strength to believe.

Because faith, You remind us, is not sight. It is trust in the unseen, the eternal, the promised:

“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” — Hebrews 11:1

So today, Jesus, we place our grief in Your hands. We place our niece in Your arms. We place her mother in Your heart. And we place our hope in the promise that one day, we will see our sweet Pimpis again — whole, joyful, and waiting for us in the warmth of Your eternal love.

Amen.
