Art Book Cover Rev 3

I’ve written several books since I began to taper down my clinical practice as a psychotherapist. This one, coming out soon, is the most laborious, heartfelt piece I have worked on. Perhaps because it’s taken me the longest to write, or perhaps because it is about my family’s ancestors, regardless, this novel feels as if I’ve carried a baby in my womb, and I can feel it aching to be born!

I invite you to listen to your heart, and if you’ve ever felt a need to put down into words what keeps shouting at you, do so! It will give you a myriad of emotions, yet the relief and love you will feel as it nears completion cannot be described.

Thank you for taking the time to read it and for all of your support along the way.

Below is a poem from within the manuscript:

“A Proud Mestiza”

In the hush of dawn, the world anew,

Azure skies beckon, a vibrant hue.

Footprints weave through history’s embrace,

Tracing paths of a bygone grace.

Gothic towers rise, reaching high,

In plazas where laughter mingles with sighs.

Kioskos draped in bright colors,

Ceremonies spun in the dance of light.

From fertile fields where my kin once strayed,

To distant shores where dreams were laid,

With hearts entwined in the ocean’s song,

In the fabric of time, I’ve always belonged.

Mestiza spirit, proud and free,

Rooted in land, as vast as the sea.

With love, I carry the tales of the past,

In every heartbeat, their echoes last.

Majestic mountains whisper my name,

In serene lands where I find my flame.

Yearning for peace in the arms of the earth,

A testament to love, to struggle, to birth.

A journey woven with threads of the brave,

In the tapestry of life, my soul is engraved.

In every wave and every breeze,

I find my essence; I find my peace.
