Sometimes, we forget to tell our friends how dear they are to us until it is too late. As I wrote this heartfelt poem for Leticia, I realized that life is meant to be lived. We only die once, I heard someone say. We get so caught up with the daily responsibilities of boyfriends, husbands, kids, pets, and the like, that we forget how important having a trusted girlfriend is.

I encourage you to take out your pen or phone and tell your friend how much you cherish her. Thank her for the many insights and for bringing light to your life; then tell her to spread that love around!
