I was listening to a Megyn Kelly podcast the other day about an author who penned a book entitled Four Thousand Weeks. In it, he notes that an average life expectancy is about 4000 weeks for us mortals. Uggghhhhh, was my first reaction; I had never thought of it that way. As morbid as it sounds, we will die one day, but thankfully it only happens once; therefore it’s important that we live FULLY each day of our week.
This brings me to the purpose of my post today: In 2015, at the Seattle airport, I briefly met an amazing man as I traveled on one of my Alaskan trips. It wasn’t until months later that I found out who he truly was and how much he loved God, his family, and humankind.
Our spirits had connected immediately that fateful day and I wrote about him in my book Angels I’ve Met Along the Way because his calming attitude and mind exuded angelic vibes.
This morning, his wife Maija emailed me to let me know of his passing and to let me know how much Ray valued our friendship! Immediately, I felt great sorrow and I knew in my heart I had to share with the world who this man is/was.
I know Ray outlived his 4000 weeks and I also know he cherished them to their fullest!
May you rest in eternal peace dear Ray as you navigate the splendid heavenly seas on that 17-foot kayak of yours. I also know one day I’ll join you on that glorious Grand Canyon exploration we talked about!
May God give your wife Maija, your sons, and grandchildren much solace during this difficult time.
Your forever friend,
Maida ❤️

Yes he will Doris. IT’s important to know that we all have them. I invite you to read Hebrews 13:2. xxx000xxx
Angelina
What a touching story of a fellow passenger you met on your travels on Mother Earth. It seems he gave you a gift and you received it with love.
Maida Mascorro
Thank you for sharing your thoughts, Angelina. Yes, he did give me a gift and I received it with love. Now let’s go and share this love with others!!! xxx000xxx
Matthew Lloyd Atterberry
Let me say that I never knew Ray; however, looking at Ray’s story, he outlived the 4000 weeks of life expectancy. As I listened to Pastor Christine Caine talk about Run Your Race, Ray did run his race and had the passion to sail the Yukon River toward the Bering Sea. He was a man who cared and loved his family very much. He loved his wife, children and grandchildren very much. May Ray sail into eternal peace with Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In this post, a lesson we all can learn is always to show kindness to everyone because you may be entertaining an angel who God can utilize in assisting you through difficult circumstances.

Thank you for your thoughts Matthew. Yes, angels do live among us and protect us daily.
