I image we all have “Happy Places” we can go to when the need is there. I have many but shall share one, 30+ years old.
A free musical event was being held at the McAllen Football Stadium. It was a cool, dry early evening. As the musicians were assembling on the field, tuning up, the happy crowd settling into their seats, I looked south towards the Municipal Pool and saw a person flying a tandem kite set. At least 1/2 a dozen kites in a row were dancing and weaving through the clear skies, controlled by a two rope system. It was a perfect moment in time I’ll never forget.
