It’s almost noon where I live, and I’ve wanted to write a post since I woke up around 6:30 a.m. Ha! Then, I was reminded by calls and texts from my loved ones that today was my special day. You see, on this day years ago (a woman never tells her age, right?) I was born into a family of 11.
Raised by two loving and humble parents, I remember nothing but LOVE growing up (which continues today). I remember food, laughter, music, joy, light, and love. I remember prayers as we blew out the candles. I remember hugs, kisses, and more love!
Growing older doesn’t mean that the memory of these past birthdays fades. On the contrary, growing older means growing wiser and accepting the woman I am today.
I have learned to stay in the present moment and practice GRATITUDE. I have learned to savor this instant and not yearn for what was. I have learned that I was born for times like these. I have learned that everything done in LOVE is never wasted. Most importantly, I have learned to always keep my heart open and allow others to shower me with their love (which, in essence, is the love of Christ).
(I did just that and allowed this special message to enrich my soul):
May your heart rejoice in knowing that, on this day, the world became a brighter, blessed, and more beautiful place because you were born…
And your life was shared as a gift from God to those who love you and the world around you.
