This morning, my sister Doris and I were talking about how, since we have “almost” retired, there are times when we become restless with the unknown. You see, my sister is calmer and more relaxed than I am. You see, my sister is like my Dad, and I am like my Mom. This has always been the case, and we worked together for about 22 years until the infamous COVID-19- Pandemic slowed us down.

Having a heart-to-heart talk with a sister is never easy, especially if one wants to be the “right” one, especially if one is younger and she knew you “when.”

So, I started thinking and poured my heart into my trusted laptop. Writing is one of my favorite healing tools. It has always been. I reminded her about the Book of Ecclesiastes, which instructs us to remember that there is a season for everything. Ecclesiastes 3:18 is a scripture that talks about the different seasons of life. It says there is a time for everything and a season for every activity under the heavens. The scripture lists different activities and the corresponding seasons for them. These activities include being born, dying, planting, harvesting, killing, healing, breaking down, building up, weeping, laughing, mourning, and dancing. The scripture serves as a compass, guiding us through the ebbs and flows of existence.

Then, as I read over my emails and researched my latest book, I came across an email from Suleika Jaouad, a woman battling leukemia. If you don’t know her and Jon Batiste’s story, American Symphony is on Netflix and is a fantastic testament to FAITH and LOVE.

It reminded me that it wasn’t about me or my sister—something we must ALL be aware of. It is about trusting the flow of energy and God’s light to lead us to our next step.

Read below and remind yourself to slow down when you, too, are feeling uncertain. Everything IS Going to be Okay! 😉
