Silent Night
I experience a rebirth—an awakening of the Christ within.
Every time we sing “Silent Night,” we have a feeling of hushed awe at the wonder of the Savior’s birth. Every time we sing “Joy to the World,” our hearts seem to burst with unspeakable joy.Christmas is a wonder to us as we let ourselves believe that it is more than a celebration that took place almost 2,000 years ago. It is a right-now thing; it is an event happening to us, in us, wherever we are, whatever we are doing. It is the rebirth, the awakening, of the Christ in us, the child of God in us. It is love incarnate in our hearts. It is life filling our being. It is joy filling our souls. Christmastime reminds us of the mystery and the miracle of life itself.

The angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for see—I am bringing you good news of great joy for all the people.”—Luke 2:10

I am aware that many people feel lonely, missing loved ones, and dread this night. It is normal to do so; yet let’s not let circumstances bring us down. Let’s focus instead on the “real” reason behind tonight and most definitely tomorrow, Christmas Day. May God continue to bless you and send your guardian angels during these holidays!!
